Default Some questions about knights armor

Does the damage reduction from knights set stack? And how much is it anyway? Is it exactly the same as the Ascalon set?

Ok, thanks.
Someone suggested to me to get 3 parts of a set then get 1 part knight's and slap an absorbtion rune on it, but if it only applies for the part that's hit, it wouldn't be worth it, correct?

Um I heard otherwise. I heard it gives the absorption to every part.

well i think dyeeo heard wrong i own knights armor and its better then platemail i think, i hear that it actually makes a difference if u put absoption on the boots compared to putting it on the chestplate if u put it in a spot more likely to get hit such as the chestplate or helm then thats smart, so buy the chestplate of knights i suggest. now im not completely sure if the location of the absorption matters but it does make sense and why not just put it there if it doesnt make a differnece it doesnt hurt

o and im real sick of ppl commenting about my grammar spelling and what i post if u dont like what i say shove it.

I'll wait for more responses before I buy something, wouldn't want to waste money.

I remember reading an old thread that there is no point in having more than one piece of Knights/Ascalon armor because the damage reduction will carry over to all body parts (verified by experiments by several players). Also, the same is true for the Rune of Absorption. However, that thread was very old so stuff could have changed. If it is still true, then it's best to get the Knights boots and higher armor stuff everywhere else because the boots are less likely to be struck and some other armor such as Gladiators which has +20 vs physical would be struck more often.

Search is your friend.

Knights armor is POINTLESS to have more than 1 piece. The -2 damage rating applies to your ENTIRE body regardless of what piece you wear. If you "think" you are seeing a bigger difference wearing more pieces, you are sadly mistaken. If you buy more than 1 piece, you are wasting your money unless of course you just want that Knight Armor look. It is by no means better than the platemail set that has higher armor on it..

Don't flame. He's right about the regional properties of armor, but wrong about the absorption bonus of knight's. One piece of knight's does give the full bonus, most warriors use platemail/gladiators and one piece knight's.

I agree with those who say one piece is all you need. I've tested it with the cheaper version of knights armor (ascalon armor) and found that one piece (any location) is all you need for the maximum benefit.

The flame was not based on this topic alone. The flame comes from repeated moronic statements in every post I seem to see him in. He has little clue what he is talking about, and is always begging for people to tell him where to make money.

But according to this FAQ straight from the GW Devs

http://www.guildwars.com/manual/comb...armor-faq.html

Does armor stack?
Not in the strictest sense of the word. Each piece of armor protects a specific area of the body, so a full set of armor works together to protect your character. The benefit of any footwear only applies to the feet, and that of any chest piece only to the chest area. Armor with extra damage-absorption will absorb damage from attacks to a specific area of the body, so in that sense, it doesn't stack. Armor with a plus to Energy, on the other hand, will increase your Energy by the stated amount for each piece of armor, e.g., if your helm, boots, and pauldron all give +5 Energy, your total benefit is +15 Energy.

Of course I have heard many people say that it does apply to the whole body, and SonOfRah (an experienced alpha tester) says it does also.
